Natalie + Brett's Cozy Fall Engagement Session at White Fish Dunes
Some love stories are built on shared laughter, spontaneous adventures, and the ability to roll with whatever life throws your way—and Natalie and Brett’s engagement session was a perfect reflection of that. What was supposed to be a classic fall shoot in Door County turned into an early November snow day, and somehow, it made the whole experience even better.
From Fall Vibes to Snowflakes
We met up at Cave Point with visions of fall foliage dancing in our heads, but Mother Nature had other plans. The crisp air, churning waves, and snowfall gave the session an unexpected sense of magic. Instead of being disappointed, Natalie and Brett leaned into it—laughing, snuggling, and embracing the adventure from the very first shot.
The Kind of Connection That Feels Effortless
These two are the definition of laid-back, and it shows in every frame. From goofy banter to deep conversations about travel, education, and wedding plans, their chemistry was so natural, so relaxed, and so real. They didn’t try to pose or perform—they just were. And that made capturing their love incredibly easy.
Maisie the Goldendoodle: Therapy Dog, Scene-Stealer, Sweetheart
Of course, no story of this session would be complete without Maisie, their golden doodle and certified therapy dog. She stole hearts (and camera time) as she bounded along the shoreline and playfully crashed their cuddles. Watching the three of them together was like watching a little family unfold right in front of me.
A Special Place in Their Story
Door County has always been significant for Natalie and Brett—it’s where one of their earliest Fourth of July traditions began nearly 15 years ago. So bringing their engagement session here felt like coming full circle. Despite the cold and snow, the setting still felt like theirs.
A Little Help from Family + A Lot of Heart
Brett’s mom even joined the fun to help wrangle Maisie between photos (shoutout to all the MVP dog-handlers out there!). Her presence added another layer of warmth and love to the experience—proof that sometimes, it really does take a village to pull off a perfect session.
Looking Ahead to “I Do”
As we wrapped up, the excitement for their upcoming wedding at Badger State was already building. If this snowy, joy-filled engagement session is any indication, their wedding is going to be full of heartfelt moments, infectious energy, and a whole lot of love.
Natalie and Brett—thank you for trusting me to capture this piece of your story. You reminded me that sometimes the best days are the ones that don’t go as planned. You embraced the unexpected, and in doing so, created something unforgettable.
Can’t wait for wedding day.
With so much love,
