Jen and Tanner’s June celebration at the Alpine Resort in Egg Harbor was everything a Door County summer wedding should be—relaxed, joy-filled, and surrounded by the people they love most. From custom aviators to lakeside vows and golden hour portraits, every moment was thoughtfully crafted and full of heart.

Getting Ready in the Heart of Door County

Alpine Resort is one of those places that immediately puts you at ease. Nestled along the shore of Green Bay, it’s peaceful, scenic, and full of that Northwoods charm—plus, everything is right on-site, which made the getting-ready process a breeze. Jen and Tanner put so much thought and care into their planning and were well supported by the incredible team at Door County Event Planners to make their vision come to life. Alpine Resort is one of our favorite Door County wedding venues because it’s picturesque and incredibly convenient. The wedding party and guests can stay right on-site, making getting ready (and finding your way home after the wedding) a breeze.

Jen and Tanner spent the morning tucked into separate cabins with their wedding parties. Jen slipped into the most stunning Morilee gown, glowing with excitement as her girls surrounded her with love and support. Her bridesmaids—dressed in elegant champagne silk—cheered, cried, and hugged her tight during a sweet first look moment in the bridal suite.

Just down the path, Tanner and his groomsmen were enjoying cold beers and football banter before suiting up. They looked sharp in navy suits, each rocking aviator sunglasses and custom watches—a subtle nod to Top Gun, one of the group’s favorite movies.

A Series of Sweet First Looks

One of the most emotional parts of the day? The string of heartfelt first looks. Jen shared a tearful moment with her dad before sneaking up behind Tanner for their own first look (and yes—she gave him a little butt squeeze to break the nerves). It was the kind of moment that reminds you what it’s all about: seeing your person and knowing you’re about to begin your next chapter together.

Portraits with Purpose

Jen and Tanner were super intentional about their timeline, wanting to soak in every moment of cocktail hour with their guests. So we explored the Alpine grounds ahead of the ceremony, capturing relaxed portraits of just the two of them and fun, candid wedding party shots. The renovated property made the perfect backdrop—elegant, woodsy, and bright with early summer light. Flora Flower Shop created gorgeous floral designs for the day, from lush all-white bouquets to a ceremony arch that popped with vibrant summer blooms.

A Lakeside Ceremony with Personal Touches

Their ceremony took place on the edge of the bay, with sailboats drifting in the background and loved ones gathered close. It was short, sweet, and full of meaning. And afterward, we snuck away for something special—photos on Jen’s family boat, honoring her roots and capturing a quiet moment on the water.

Top Gun Cocktails + Sunset Views

As the tented reception kicked off, guests were greeted with signature Top Gun-themed cocktails (how fun is that?) and views of the sun slowly dipping behind the water. The tent at Alpine is one of our favorite places to celebrate—open, airy, and just close enough to the shoreline that you can hear the waves during dinner.

Later, we snuck Jen and Tanner up to one of the golf course greens perched high above the bay. The hazy skies, tinted by Canadian wildfires, added a soft, cinematic feel to the portraits—like the world paused just for them.

Pie, Dancing, and the Sweetest Ending

Door County’s famous cherry and apple pies made a guest appearance for dessert, followed by emotional dances and a dance floor that stayed packed all night long. It was the kind of party you never want to leave—the music, the laughter, the glow of string lights and summer air wrapping around everyone like a hug.

A Day That Felt Like Them

From sentimental moments on the lake to playful nods to their favorite movie, Jen and Tanner’s wedding day felt entirely their own. It was joyful and genuine, with just the right blend of elegance and fun. We feel so honored to have captured the start of their next adventure.
