Hold Your Tribe Tight | Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

Do you have a “tribe”? A group of friends that just get you and are there to support you through the good times and bad? The ones that have got your back, are up for adventure, and love you for who you are–those people are solid gold. Having a tribe like this has been so incredible/crucial/life-changing/insert-other-awesome-adjective-here and I am SO thankful for these friends.

Bayshore Engagement Photo Session: Ella + Zach!

On one of the coldest November days in Wisconsin’s history, Ella and Zach snuggled up for their engagement session. Having their engagement session by the water was important to Ella, just as being outdoors was important to Ella and Zach, as it represents them as a couple. The nineteen-degree weather (not including the wind chill!) at Bayshore, Wisconsin brought out how caring and supportive Ella and Zach are.

Finding True Love, My Personal Love Story

I call myself a celebrator and cultivator of love, which means that I recognize how incredible the phenomenon of True Love is. That love, and that journey, is worthy of celebration because your path to finding the amazing person you’re meant to spend your life with is such an adventure. Filled with mountains to climb, and valleys to roam through, these adventures are worth the trials and tribulations when they lead you to the love of your life. I’m very familiar with this journey.

Instead, Kate and Andrew compromised with a destination engagement session. Kate and Andrew are the best people to travel with. They know tons of places to go and hike, and Kate knows even more places to eat! Kate has such a wealth of knowledge about food! Intimate Couples Session: Nicole & Jarrod

Nicole and Jarrod won a free two-part couples session with us! The first half of the session was more of a traditional couples session and the second half was more of an intimate session. These two are naturals in front of the camera and had so much fun with each other during the shoot. Nicole and Jarrod first met in third grade and had their 3rd grade teacher marry them! They are the sweetest couple, and are new parents to a fur baby, Pip!

Cherie + Kyle’s In-Home Engagement Session

There are some people in this world that are just meant to be together for the rest of their lives. Cherie always refills the k-cup drawer with coffee for Kyle every morning before she leaves for work, and Kyle always takes Cherie’s glasses off and plugs in her phone when she falls asleep on the couch. Kyle proposed to Cherie outside Chives (right by the studio!) before what Cherie thought was going to be an anniversary celebratory dinner. As it turned out, Cherie and Kyle got to celebrate not only their anniversary, but their engagement as well (she said yes!).

Kate + Andy’s Up North Engagement Session!

When it came to planning our engagement sessions, Andrew and I were really intentional about picking locations and activities that have special meaning for us. Our engagement sessions are another opportunity for us to insert our personalities and hobbies into our wedding journey, and we wanted to do it right!

For our first engagement session, we headed to my family’s cabin in Spread Eagle, Wisconsin. We love spending time on our private lake with our pups frolicking through the woods and splashing in the water. It’s one of our happy places, made all the more special because my 91-year-old grandma still calls this cabin home!

Chantel + TJ’s Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Session

The early morning sky awaited us with pink and orange clouds as TJ and Chantel stepped out of their RV and headed into Rocky Mountain National Park for their engagement session. Clad in their hiking boots, jeans, and outdoor gear from Patagonia and The North Face, these two looked as though they had just stepped out of an outdoor magazine. The sun was just kissing the mountaintops as Chantel and TJ made their way along a stream in the meadow of the park. Taking in the beauty that was around them, they were fully present to their surroundings and the journey that has led them to this point in their relationship.

Klair + Troy’s In-Home Engagement Session

On an overcast, drizzling day, Klair and Troy welcomed KLEM Studios’ associate photographer, Sara, into their apartment. Klair and Troy met at a plastic bag factory, where she asked Troy out first. Although Troy remembers a mutual connection leading towards their first date! Sara captured their silly side, as they recalled Troy picking the movie for their date at the theaters: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Klair and Troy made each other laugh with no problems. They were silly together, and clearly showed their love towards one another, excited to document this amazing time in their lives.

Olivia + Laura’s Summer Engagement Session | Fonferek’s Glen, Wisconsin

After a rainy morning, Olivia and Laura started their engagement session with KLEM Studios. Olivia and Laura knew they wanted to have their engagement photos taken in an outdoor space that had a wonderful water feature. I suggested the ever-beautiful Fonferek’s Glen just on the outskirts of Green Bay. The park has fields, a lovely waterfall, a creek that runs through it, and it’s a picturesque place to explore, especially on a warm sunny day. Olivia and Laura happened to pick the very first day of Pride Month for their engagement session. We were so happy to celebrate their love and freedom to love one another. The sun began poking through the clouds and gave way to a beautiful warm and glowing late afternoon.

Ten Important Conversations to Have Before You Get Married

When you get engaged, you may think that you know everything about your partner (spoiler, you probably don’t). You may have had a lot of important conversations already while you were dating, but there are some key conversations that I believe should be had before you get married. These conversations will make sure that you’re both on the same page, and address any areas that you have differing thoughts on ahead of time. They’re supportive, they’re thought-provoking, and they’re meant to make sure you have a long, healthy, and happy relationship.

I recommend approaching these conversations in a comfortable, non-threatening manner.
